Our Beginning

ASI controls realized early on that an opportunity for a new type of controller, a fully distributed Direct Digital Controller (DDC), was made possible by integrated circuits. In 1986 using the first triple-technology ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) ASI Controls developed the first VAV controller small enough to fit above the ceiling that enabled each occupied space to be closely controlled and monitored.

Since then, ASI Controls has expanded and developed its product range to offer control systems from single controller applications to large networked systems with thousands of devices . The systems operate and monitor mountain-top equipment shelters, small stores and offices, campuses and nationwide property networks . They are also embedded in mechanical and electrical systems as original equipment.

The ASI Controls Telco Panel was developed for use in the telecommunication industry and has been in service for over 10 years. Some of the largest telephone companies in the United States currently use this product. One large company (over US$27 billion in sales in 2004) has standardized on it for all their facilities nationwide. Telco Panel features include:

• Cost effective direct digital control of your HVAC equipment
• Dialing sites remotely to verify system operation
• Alarming out when temperatures or equipment get out of range
• Monitoring space, discharge and outdoor temperatures start and run history of equipment, alarm history and system operation.
• Remotely start/stop equipment and verify system operation
• Saving energy with occupied/unoccupied setting and more accurate temperature control of your building.
• The system is well documented for easy installation.

And now, through our Telco Solutions, we offer a specialized packaged for the telecommunications industry. We are using our robust ASIC/2-7040 controller with a standard application developed for telco applications and packaged in a steel enclosure. For more information see the panel.
