ASI Controls System Architectures

  • With an ASI Controls building automation system, you can remotely control and monitor all networked facilities from your browser. JASIC Open Systems products, powered by NiagaraAX Framework, provide industry standard open protocol interfaces for interoperabilityWeb Browser Monitoring and Control of Nationwide Networks
  • Support for BACnet™-IP or -MS/TP, LonWorks™, Modbus, oBIX™ etc.
  • Networked Systems using LAN, WAN or Internet
  • Standalone Remote Sites with Automated Modem Dialout
  • Single Controller Sites with Direct Ethernet Connectivity
  • Secure, Web Accessible, Integrated Control Solutions
  • Open Systems Interoperability powered by NiagaraAX Framework™
  • JASIC Open Systems - powered by Tridium NiagaraAX Framework

JASIC open connectivity solutions are powered by the Niagara Framework JASIC Open Systems controllers and software run Tridium's Niagara Framework™, which provides interfaces to open industry standard protocols including BACnet™-IP, BACnet-MS/TP, LON™, Modbus, oBIX™, and others, enabling control solutions combining ASI Controls reliability and performance with Niagara Framework open interoperability. JASIC Open Systems create opportunities for ASI resellers to upgrade and retrofit open control systems, and integrate legacy ASI systems into new BACnet environments.

ASI Controls provides a full range of system architecture options, ranging from single controller sites with automated dialout capability to large sites with thousands of networked controllers, multiple remote access points, and optionally OPC integration to other building automation systems.

ASI Controls provides interoperability options with the BACport BACnet/IP interface, as well as support for Modbus (ASIC/2's can serve as Modbus RTU Master for a network of Modbus RTU Slave devices) and OPC-DA. OPC is a data exchange standard that is commonly used in industrial process control settings. ASI WebLink is OPC-client software for custom front end development. Modbus RTU Master is a common standard for controlling slave devices such as VFDs, fans, pumps etc. Interoperability enables connectivity to and from many different devices and systems. ASI web front end software also support SSL/HTTPS, the Internet standard for secure browsing.

    Multiple Ethernet Networking Connectivity Options

The EtherLink/2 enables cost-effective communication with ASI controllers and control systems via an Ethernet TCP/IP local area or wide area network (LAN or WAN). Supported USB serial-to-Ethernet converters enable very low-cost Ethernet connectivity for a single ASIC/2-7540 configurable controller by leveraging the controller's built-in USB port. The ETH-8540 Ethernet Expansion Board is an optional extension board that plugs into the ASIC/2-8540 controller to provide cost-effective Ethernet connectivity for a single controller.

A legacy ASI Controls system provides archtiecture options, multiple remote access methods, and a choice of graphical user interface software and panels for the front end.

ASI Controls provides highly scalable system architectures with BACnet and OPC-DA connectivity and Modbus support. Multiple Ethernet options for LAN, WAN, or Internet access. BACport BACnet/IP Interface enables integration of ASI controllers into a system with an existing BACnet front end Cost-effective options for single controller sites with Ethernet or dialout for event annunciation
