A powerful configurable controller with a small footprint, the ASIC/2-8540 controller uses drag and drop configuration to program Energy Management, HVAC Control, Refrigeration, and other process applications. Suited for automation of small facilities, controlling large equipment, supervisory duties, multi-zone and other applications. Can optionally serve as the Modbus RTU Master on the local bus. The ASIC/2-8540 features a powerful and intuitive graphical configuration interface, with an extensive set of objects available to speed the configuration and commissioning process. The controller configuration is stored onboard, and the configuration data can be uploaded to any instance of ASI Controls Visual Expert configuration software, either through plug-in connectivity on the jobsite or remotely over a network connection. Configuration data is preserved through power outages. Native features include a configurable demand limiting algorithm which offers automated setpoint adjustment and equipment deactivation options in order to shed load as needed to satisfy tariff, distribution, or other peak load constraints, as well as an optimum start sequence. The controller can be remotely accessed using either Ethernet or modem. The ASIC/2-8540 can initiate outbound modem dialout in order to deliver alarm or event notifications. Configured using ASI Visual Expert graphical configuration software. There are 8 universal inputs which can be multiplexed to achieve up to 32 digital inputs total. The controller includes 8 relay outputs and 4 analog outputs. A battery-backed real-time clock is a standard feature on all ASIC/2 controllers, providing true stand-alone capability. The schedule and calendar features allow special time schedules to be configured years in advance, a convenient option for projects such as retail outlets, educational facilities and other settings with variable occupancy. Applications requiring a more IO can use the ASIC/2-7540 with 16 universal inputs and 12 Binary + 8 Analog outputs. The ASIC/2-8540-BAC with BACnet MS/TP interface and devices in the JASIC Open Systems line also offer interoperability with BACnet and Modbus interfaces, and options for networks with embedded web server front ends.
