ASI Controls Joins Building Automation Institute
San Ramon, CA, June 26th, 2007 – ASI Controls today announced it has joined the Building Automation Institute in order to promote interoperability options for cost-effective digital control solutions. The Spring 2007 issue of the Building Automation Institute’s (BAI) Newsline magazine features a solution using a mix of ASI Controls VAV zone controllers and GE Fanuc programmable logic controllers unified through a Wonderware InTouch front end.
“End users evaluate control systems investments in terms of functionality, cost and performance” explained Francis Chapman, ASI Controls Marketing Director. “The recent BAI Newsline cover story on Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is an example of the benefits of interoperability. ASI Controls hardware is responsible for VAV zone temperature control, while GE Fanuc and Allen-Bradley PLCs are used for mission critical applications where redundancy and fault-tolerance drive controller selection. As the project demonstrates, the most cost-effective control solutions may rely on integrating products from different manufacturers. ASI Controls is committed to providing interoperability through open standards including OPC and Modbus, and we look forward to working with the BAI member community to further support interoperability.”
ASI Controls provides state of the art digital controls to manage, monitor, and control building environments. ASI Controls products operate and monitor facilities around the world, including nationwide property networks, commercial and industrial buildings, shopping malls, hospitals, and educational campuses, and as original equipment in Chillers and other HVAC equipment.
Building Automation Institute promotes the professional interests of members involved in the management, design, and implementation of building automation controls, systems and peripherals. BAI focuses on applications including HVAC Controls, Lighting Controls, Access Controls, CCTV, Energy Management, Life Safety Cointrols and the strategies used to integrate these systems
