Working with Internet Explorer 6 Security Settings

ASI WebLink safely uses built-in, Microsoft ActiveX components for XML data exchange. If your current security settings prohibit this behavior, you could reset the Web content zone to the default security level, Internet = Medium vs. Local intranet = Medium-low. While this will work, it will also lower security for every web page in that zone. The better solution is to setup WebLink as a Trusted site (see Microsoft online help).

How to add WebLink Server to your list of Trusted sites:

  1. Start Internet Explorer

  2. On the Internet Explorer Tools menu, click Internet Options

  3. Click the Security tab

  4. Click the Trusted sites icon to select the security zone and confirm security level for Trusted sites zone is Medium-low [default level]

  5. Click the Sites button  (See step 5 below)

  6. Type WebLink Server in the box marked Add this Web site to the zone  (See step 6 above)

  7. Confirm the box marked Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone is not checked

  8. Click the Add button

  9. Click OK twice
